We are thrilled to announce the long-awaited opening of “Breastfeeding Rocks!”, a permanent educational breastfeeding exhibit at the Museum of Science & Industry in Tampa, Florida.

Sponsored by La Leche League of the Sunshine State, it is part of a larger interactive museum exhibit about human development and wellness called The Amazing You, which takes guests on a journey through the stages of life, beginning with birth.

The mission of La Leche League is to help mothers breastfeed their babies through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.  While most mothers today are aware that “breastfeeding is best-feeding” there are still people who are unaccustomed to seeing babies nurse in public.  The aim of this exhibit is to give attendees information, and the opportunity to see illustrative pictures.  Many of the pictured families are from the Tampa Bay area, and have been involved in the fundraising and content development for this exhibit over the past two years.

Please explore our website for more information about La Leche League and finding breastfeeding support in your community.
